The vastness of the galaxy is matched only by the sheer number of species inhabiting it. In Star Wars: The Old Republic, you get to choose the Species for your character – your Species determines the way your character looks,<\/strong> and occasionally how other characters in the story interact with you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Your species gives you no tactical advantage or penalty,<\/strong> and there are no stats or boosts tied to your species, so choose one that interests you or that you like the look of.<\/p>\n

Species Options<\/h2>\n

If you are a brand new free-to-play player, you will notice you can only choose to play a Human, Cyborg, or Zabrak by default.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are subscribed player, you get a few more options unlocked depending on what Origin Story you have chosen, for example, the blue Chiss species becomes automatically available to subscribed players who are making an Imperial Agent.<\/p>\n

There are various ways to unlock all the species for all classes available,<\/strong> so if playing a specific species is important to you, you can make it happen. With some work, all species can be playable with any Origin Story or faction.<\/p>\n

Species Chart<\/h2>\n

Some species, like humans, are available to all player for free. Other species, like Twi’leks, are available to certain classes for free if you are a subscriber.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Most species can be unlocked through the legacy system for your entire server. And a few, including Togruta, Cathar and Nautolans must be purchased.<\/p>\n

Human<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Humans are considered the default species in Star Wars: The Old Republic and are the most common species you will encounter in-game. If you are not sure what type of species to choose, human is an easy first step into the greater galaxy of unique aliens that only exist in the Star Wars universe, each with their own cultural and physical differences.<\/p>\n
