Belsavis Green Matrix Shard Guide

This datacron is one of the harder ones to get, as it requires first finding four randomly hidden cubes around Belsavis.

Find 4 Rakata Energy Cubes

To unlock this matrix shard, you’ll need to find four of the hidden Rakata Energy Cubes, which look like small blue glowing cubes with yellow dots, sitting on the ground of Belsavis.

They are hidden in the Tombs area in the northern section of Belsavis, in the same area as the Indiana Jones leap of faith datacron with the holographic bridge.

As far as I can tell, there will only be one cube available on the map, in one of the various locations. Once it gets clicked, give or take around a minute later, a new cube will spawn in one of the locations.

The easiest way to gather your cubes seems to be to travel in a loop between all the locations. If you find a cube, right-click it, then wait about a minute to see if it respawns before moving on, since it has a random chance of respawning right where you are. If it does spawn, continue your loop until you can find the next place it spawned. If someone else is also searching and getting in your way, don’t forget you can use the big Map to change instances with the drop down in the bottom right of the big map.

In the map I’ve made here, I was able to confirm for myself the green locations, and the yellow locations seem to be other confirmed locations. There’s a great thread on the SWTOR.com forums where players were sharing locations back from the game’s launch, and apparently these cubes are also hidden in the High Security Station in the southern part of Belsavis, though I didn’t go searching there.

Once you find and pick up a Rakata energy Cube, it will show up as an item in your inventory. They can be traded to a friend or put in a guild bank, but they can not be sold or bought on the GTN. This means you can go hunting for the cubes with your friend, and combine your four cubes on one character, but all still get the matrix shard in the end together.

If you have already gotten this matrix shard for your legacy, you will be able to see the cubes, but won’t be able to right-click them to pick them up.

Find the Hidden Elevator

Activate the Rakata Energy Cubes

Once you get off the elevator, head forwards in the underground tunnel until you find a terminal that has four blue rectangle buttons and one larger blue button on the right.

If you are doing this as part of a group, you’ll want to make sure your whole group is nearby before you activate the terminals.

To activate the matrix shard, right click each of the rectangle blue buttons and choose “Insert Rakata energy Cube”. They will eventually de-activate, you don’t need to rush but make sure to put in all four and don’t log off or wander away before you finish. After you put all four in, use the bigger blue button on the right which will unlock the matrix shard for a short time!

When the Matrix Shard is not active, it will look like a Rakata energy Cube and not be clickable.
